Just over 4000km completed so far, with only 290km and 6000m of climbing separating us from our gear we had sent ahead (and the main reason we had persevered on the route despite all the struggles. We had heard good things about this section, and hoped that we would be able to finish with a bang, and we certainly did as the last campsite was the best of the whole trip.

The second of three stages on the Peru Great Divide. We go from San Mateo to Oyon, taking a detour so we can spend more time pushing and carrying our bikes, which the PGD sorely lacks.

Two nights on the Ausangate circuit, one of Perus best hiking regions. Amazing scenery everywhere, this was the highlight of our trip so far.

From Cuyo Cuyo to Ausangate on the Tres Cordilleras route. Somewhat delayed with pneumonia, we crossed 5000m passes and remote high plateaus in the south of Peru in the Andes.
